‘Off my Walker’

Ahhh, where to begin.. I have been thinking, stewing and fretting about writing a blog for over a year, and here I am! As my first blog post I’m going to take a moment to tell you a bit about myself and why I’ve chosen to embark on this adventure. A blog, for someone who is a terrible speller is a terrifying feat, yet ever so exhilarating. I have an extreme love-hate relationship with the town I’ve called home for most of my 25 years of life, its one of the most beautiful, miserable places on earth. One can not simply go to the grocery store without seeing someone you know -the same grocery store that is likely out of, or has never heard of what you’re trying to purchase. People are so friendly or nosey, I’ve yet to find the real answer to small-town-life questions. Literally me at the grocery store: Look to see if I recognize anyone’s car outside, sneak in and speed walk to the items I am in desperate need of and immediately evacuate the premises. Why, why do I do this..? Just take five extra minutes to say Hi. No, just no, I don’t want to. I want to go home, put my PJ’s on and Facebook creep you without actually speaking face to face. I’m truly not and antisocial person, sometimes I just don’t wanna! My husband on the other hand is the polar opposite of me..he is exhaustingly nice. The kind of nice you can only assume is fake, then when you realize it isn’t, your faith in humanity is restored as well as your own personal loathing is amplified. I am constantly told by people how lucky I am to have such a wonderful husband, and I am, I know this, I do. But shuuuuutt uup! For all the reason I fell in love with him and all the reasons I continue to love him irrevocably I also kind of want to kick him in the shin for. He is our wonderful towns Unofficial Mayor, he has the whole shaking hands and kissing babies thing down; while I stand at the bar deciding if I should get white or red wine. Both, two hands, two glasses, duh. I myself am confused with how I feel about living in a small town, because there are so many aspects I do indeed love about it. It’s a simple place, with all the natural beauties you could ask for but it will also drive you crazy. Literally sometimes…if you think you’d like to embark on this wild adventure with me of small town life, style and love stay tuned for drama, sweet shoes, and all sorts of hilarity! -Scarlet

There are times when running into someone at the grocery store is great but more than not it’s an uncomfortable interaction… I’m with ya sista… just let me get my over priced fruit and be done with it.
